Latest Meta Ads Updates: New Tools, Targeting Controls & Creative Features

Meta continues to introduce new features and changes designed to give advertisers more control, insights, and creative options across its advertising ecosystem. Here are some of the latest updates advertisers should keep an eye on.

Ad Placement Controls Changing
Some advertisers are reportedly seeing the ad placement control option being removed. While this change has not appeared for everyone yet, if it rolls out more widely, advertisers may still be able to influence individual placements through Value Rules.
However, there is an important limitation: Value Rules allow you to reduce your bid for a specific placement by a maximum of 90%. This means you cannot use the feature to completely exclude a particular placement.

Meta AI Comes to Campaign Management
Meta is making it easier for advertisers to get answers about their campaigns with Meta AI.
Advertisers can access Meta AI, log in with their Meta account, and ask questions related to their Meta Ads campaigns. This could make campaign analysis and troubleshooting more accessible without having to manually navigate through multiple reports and settings.

Audience Targeting at the Ad Level
Meta is introducing the ability to set audience targeting suggestions at the individual ad level.
With this update, advertisers can provide age and gender targeting suggestions for each specific ad, giving campaigns more flexibility when different creatives are designed for different audience segments.

Introducing the “Estimated Spend” Metric
Meta has introduced a new metric called Estimated Spend.
This metric shows the projected average daily spend for a campaign based on its cost per result goal. The estimate is calculated using a model based on the previous two days of performance from similar campaigns.
For advertisers, this can provide an additional reference point when evaluating expected campaign spending and performance.

New “Ads Only” Store Locations
For Pages with location pages enabled, Meta Business Suite now allows advertisers to create an Ads only store location.
Unlike regular store locations, these locations are designed specifically for advertising. They can appear in certain ads but will not be visible on Facebook or in Facebook search results.
This could be particularly useful for businesses that want to promote a specific location through advertising without displaying it as a publicly searchable Facebook location.

Meta Introduces Ad Creative Studio
One of the more interesting updates is Ad Creative Studio, a new tool designed to help advertisers turn their best performing ads into new creative variations.
Advertisers can identify and rank their top performing ads using different metrics, generate new creative variations based on what is already working, customize those creatives, and then save or download them.
The generated creatives can also be sent directly to Meta Ads Manager for use in new campaigns.
Advertisers can currently sign up to get access to the tool.

What These Updates Mean for Advertisers
Together, these updates show Meta’s continued focus on automation, AI powered campaign management, flexible targeting, and creative optimization.
For advertisers, the key takeaway is simple: Meta is increasingly moving toward systems that use campaign data and automation to help determine what works, while giving advertisers new tools to guide and optimize those decisions.
